At Beacon Hill Apartments our environment is important to us. We are doing our best to reduce the waste in our world and conserve our resources. We believe that if each of us does our small part we can preserve the environment we live in. Green initiatives we have taken at Beacon Hill Apartments include:
low energy light bulbs in all our hallways and exterior lighting fixtures
low flow toilets
low flow water fixtures
energy efficient appliances
green alternative cleaning products when possible
lawn and garden mulching to reduce the need for watering
We are looking forward to completing a number of new initiatives in the near future.
We will be installing new low flow faucets in all of our suites to reduce the amount of water we use. The low flow faucets will not be noticeable to tenants but over time will greatly reduce the amount of water we use.
We are currently in the process of replacing all of our laundry machines and dryers with new high-energy efficient machines. The new machines will use less water, clean clothes better and will significantly reduce drying time thereby reducing the energy we use.
Recycling
We are particularly excited to be working with the City of Calgary to begin our recycling program and station. We will be setting up a recycling station at Beacon Hill Apartments where tenants can bring paper, cardboard, cans and other recyclables. These items will then be picked up by the City of Calgary and added to their recycling program. This program will substantially reduce the amount of waste at Beacon Hill Apartments.
